We are looking for an experienced Import & Customs Clearance Professional with strong hands-on expertise in independently managing customs clearance and import operations. The candidate will be responsible for documentation, customs compliance, HS code classification, duty assessment, and coordination with customs, ports/ICDs, CHA and logistics partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently handle import and customs clearance activities from documentation to cargo release.
- Prepare and verify import/customs documentation, including Bill of Entry, invoices, packing lists and related documents.
- Handle HS Code classification, customs duty structures, exemptions and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate with Customs, Ports/ICDs, CHA, freight forwarders and other external agencies.
- Resolve customs clearance issues and operational bottlenecks at port/ICD level.
- Ensure timely clearance of imported materials and minimize delays/demurrage.
- Monitor shipment status and maintain accurate customs/import records.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Customs, DGFT and import regulations.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain documentation using MS Office.
Qualification:
- Graduate in any discipline.
- PG Diploma / Diploma in Customs Clearance & Freight Forwarding / Import-Export Management preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in customs clearance/import operations.
- Experience in a reputed Customs House Agent (CHA) or manufacturing company is mandatory/preferred.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of customs clearance procedures.
- Good understanding of HS Code classification and customs duty structures.
- Strong documentation and compliance skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to independently handle customs-related operational issues.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Candidates who can independently manage end-to-end customs clearance and have practical experience dealing directly with Customs, Ports/ICDs and external agencies will be preferred.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
