Role & Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the Language Acquisition Department (Spanish/French/German) ensuring alignment with IB DP curriculum standards and assessment criteria.

- Design, review, and implement departmental policies, schemes of work, and assessment strategies that foster student agency and linguistic proficiency.

- Mentor and coach language faculty, conduct classroom observations, and lead professional development workshops to elevate pedagogical practice.

- Collaborate with the Curriculum Coordinator and Principal to ensure cross-curricular literacy initiatives and IB learner profile integration.

- Monitor student progress, analyze assessment data, and advise on intervention strategies to improve attainment and IB Diploma outcomes.





- Represent the department externally in IB verification, accreditation, and parent engagement events while fostering intercultural understanding.

Skills & Qualifications

- Must-Have

- IB DP Language Acquisition certification or training

- Teaching experience in IB Diploma Programme (minimum 3 years)

- Fluency in Spanish, French, or German at native or near-native level

- Experience in department leadership or HOD role

- Proven ability in curriculum design and IB assessment moderation

- Classroom observation and instructional coaching skills

- IB MYP to DP transition understanding

- Competency in educational data analysis and reporting tools

- Preferred

- IB Workshop Leader qualification

- Experience with TOK or CAS coordination

- Proficiency in using ManageBac or similar IB management platforms
