Helpdesk & Drilling Systems Monitoring Support

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 1–3 years preferred

Education: Diploma/Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

CTC: ₹4.2 – ₹5.4 LPA, depending on experience and technical skills

Work Schedule: 12-hour rotational shifts

Operational Coverage: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Shifts: Day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays as per roster

About the Role

We are looking for a Helpdesk & Drilling Systems Monitoring Support skilled to join our remote operations team.

The role is responsible for providing continuous monitoring support for drilling technology systems and applications. The successful candidate will conduct scheduled system checks, monitor drilling data and system health, identify abnormalities or interruptions, document findings and escalate issues to the appropriate technical or operational team.

This is a 24/7 operational support function. Employees will work assigned 12-hour day or night shifts according to the roster.

The role requires a person who is reliable, technically capable, highly attentive to detail and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities1. Drilling Systems Monitoring

- Monitor the Driller's HMI throughout the assigned shift.
- Confirm that the Driller's HMI is online and operating correctly.
- Monitor and record the current rig activity.
- Verify current bit depth and well/hole depth.
- Confirm that the Driller's HMI time matches the applicable local time.
- Monitor hard disk space and system utilisation.
- Identify any abnormal system behaviour or interruptions.

2. Web Application Monitoring
- Monitor the drilling Web Application.
- Verify that bit depth matches the Driller's HMI.
- Verify that hole depth matches the Driller's HMI.
- Confirm that rig data is updating correctly on the time plot.
- Confirm that MWD data is updating correctly on the time plot.
- Confirm that rig data is updating correctly on the depth plot.
- Confirm that MWD data is updating correctly on the depth plot.
- Check for any new gaps or interruptions in the depth plots since the previous review.
- Record and report any discrepancies identified.

3. Infrastructure & System Health Monitoring

Monitor the following systems and confirm that they remain operational:

Portainer

- Confirm that all containers are running and healthy.

Grafana

- Confirm that the system status is healthy/green.

Rig Nodes

- Confirm that all rig nodes are connected.

Additional Rig Computers

- Confirm that the Directional PC is online and running.
- Confirm that the EDR Admin Computer is online and operational.

4. Scheduled Monitoring & Reporting
- Perform scheduled system reviews every 3 hours during the assigned shift.
- Complete the prescribed monitoring checklist accurately.
- Record system status, observations and any abnormalities identified during each review.
- Ensure monitoring reports are completed and submitted within the required timeframe.




- Maintain accurate records of issues and actions taken.
- Identify trends or recurring issues and highlight them to the relevant team.

5. Issue Identification & Escalation
- Identify system outages, connectivity issues, data discrepancies, missing data or abnormal system behaviour.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting within the scope of the role.
- Escalate technical issues promptly according to established escalation procedures.
- Provide the technical team with clear and accurate information when escalating an issue.
- Record the time of the issue, affected system, observations and actions taken.
- Continue monitoring affected systems as required until the issue is resolved or handed over.
- Ensure unresolved issues are clearly communicated during shift handover.

6. Shift Handover
- Provide a explicit handover to the incoming shift.
- Communicate all outstanding issues, system abnormalities and follow-up actions.
- Ensure monitoring records are complete and up to date before completing the shift.
- Highlight any recurring or critical issues requiring continued attention.

Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Information Systems, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Candidates with relevant technical support, NOC or system monitoring experience and an appropriate technical qualification may also be considered.

Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- IT Helpdesk
- Technical Support
- NOC Operations
- System Monitoring
- IT Operations
- Application Monitoring
- Remote Technical Support
- Infrastructure Monitoring
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment will be an advantage.

Technical Skills The candidate should have a good understanding of:
- Computer systems and applications
- Basic networking and connectivity
- System and application monitoring
- Basic troubleshooting
- Data monitoring and validation
- Incident identification and escalation
- Remote support tools

Desirable Technical Experience

Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:

- Grafana
- Portainer

Key Skills & CompetenciesAttention to Detail

Ability to identify discrepancies between systems and recognise when data or system behaviour does not appear normal.

Monitoring Discipline





Ability to consistently complete scheduled checks and reports at the required 3-hour intervals throughout the shift.

Troubleshooting

Ability to investigate basic technical issues and determine when an issue requires escalation.

Communication

Ability to clearly communicate technical observations, issues and required actions to the relevant team.

Documentation

Ability to maintain accurate monitoring records and provide clear shift handovers.

Reliability

Strong commitment to assigned shifts and scheduled monitoring activities.

Independent Working

Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision in a remote environment.

Shift & Roster Requirements

This role supports a 24-hour, 7-day operational environment.

Employees will work 12-hour rostered shifts and may be assigned:

- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Public holiday shifts

Employees are expected to work according to the assigned roster and remain available and attentive throughout their scheduled shift.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with rotational day and night shifts.

Remote Work Requirements

As this is a fully remote position, candidates must have:

- Reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
- A suitable and quiet workspace.
- A reliable computer/laptop suitable for remote monitoring activities.
- Ability to maintain connectivity and availability throughout the assigned shift.
- Ability to work independently from home.
- A suitable backup arrangement for internet/power interruptions where reasonably possible.

Performance Expectations

Success in this role will be measured by:

- Timely completion of scheduled 3-hourly monitoring checks.
- Accuracy and completeness of monitoring reports.
- Prompt identification of system abnormalities.
- Timely escalation of technical issues.
- Accurate documentation of incidents and observations.
- Effective shift handovers.
- Consistent adherence to monitoring and escalation procedures.
- Reliable attendance and adherence to the assigned roster.

Remuneration

₹4.2 – ₹5.4 LPA CTC The final remuneration will depend on the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills and overall suitability for the role.
