Position Overview The Unit Head will be responsible for leading operations at the Vizag facility, ensuring excellence in service, quality, cost efficiency, statutory compliance, and people management. This role demands strategic leadership, operational discipline, and a strong focus on continuous improvement to deliver business objectives while fostering a protected, compliant, and engaging workplace.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Service & Quality

- Deliver output targets for assigned unit(s) in line with daily Bill of Requirements (BOR), minimizing Black & Red priority SKUs.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of export commitments, minimizing overdue SKUs in COIIS.
- Drive adherence to deviation management processes, ensuring systemic and time-bound resolution of process/product deviations.
- Maintain consistent product quality aligned with customer requirements, with rapid corrective action implementation.
- Analyze and resolve customer complaints within 15 days of receipt.
- Participate in review meetings: DRM, Quality IRM.

2. Cost & Efficiency

- Optimize manufacturing costs and maximize capacity utilization through effective use of manpower, materials, and machines.
- Monitor and control variances in raw materials, packaging materials, and semi-finished goods to maximize yield at minimal cost.
- Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and modules.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of critical process and environmental equipment.
- Optimize energy utilization by maintaining standard cycle times with zero rework/waste.
- Minimize non-moving/slow-moving inventories by escalating to HO agencies.




- Participate in divisional RM and IRM review meetings.

3. EHS & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all statutory acts and rules governing unit operations.
- Implement end-to-end health and safety measures, fostering a safe workplace.
- Maintain MIS of safety performance, including accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Anchor the EHS Management System implementation at the unit.
- Liaise with statutory authorities (PCB, Factories Inspectorate, Gram Panchayat/Municipal bodies, Fire Service).
- Conduct risk assessments and address high-risk activities.
- Ensure effective implementation of critical safety systems: Permit system, Electrical safety, LOTO, Fire control.
- Conduct periodic fire safety audits and close audit points within timelines.
- Ensure timely reporting and corrective action for incidents/accidents.
- Maintain and update factory licenses and permissions monthly.
- Participate in IRS, Cluster FRM, and EHS FRM review meetings

4. People & Organization

- Recruit and develop junior-level plant staff while fostering growth across all levels.
- Build cohesive working relationships and an environment of trust.
- Engage with employees periodically, record concerns, and drive closure.
- Conduct employee engagement initiatives (HAH, Open House, Recognition programs).
- Escalate concerns to Function Head and HR as needed.
- Participate in Cluster FRM review meetings.

5. Systems & Major Initiatives

- Implement strategies aligned with functional initiatives, ensuring clarity of direction and focus.
- Drive robust IRM and DRM processes for effective execution of initiatives, systems, and modules.
