Role Description The Global Opportunities team is part of the International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility team and manages the University’s portfolio of international student mobility partners and programmes; bespoke short courses for students and staff of partner universities overseas; and open access summer schools for students from around the world. These programmes aim to build current international relationships and enhance existing relationships with key University partners across the globe, and support the University's strategy. The team is growing in line with the University’s ambitious new strategy to rapidly expand its potential to generate new income streams and develop substantive global partnerships aligned to the emergent new University Strategy. The IRPM team is therefore being tasked with increasing the visibility of the University of York to global audiences, including partner international universities, international academic networks and other international research and teaching partnerships. The University has significant geographical reach with its current partners and prides itself on the depth of these relationships.
Main purpose of the role The Global Opportunities Administrator provides administrative and operational support across the team’s international student programmes, with responsibility for one or more areas such as short courses or summer schools.
The post-holder will act as an initial point of contact for students, staff, advisers, partner institutions and other stakeholders, providing accurate information and guidance on programme requirements and regulations. They will maintain accurate student, partner and financial records, prepare programme documentation and support the effective delivery of mobility activities.
The role requires a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work accurately to deadlines and use initiative to resolve queries. The post-holder will also contribute to improving administrative processes and provide appropriate pastoral support to students.
