General Manager – Plastics Packaging Manufacturing

Location: Nigeria

Salary: $4000 Monthly negotiable

Reports to: Managing Director

Role Summary

Lead the day-to-day operations of a plastics packaging facility, covering production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, workforce, safety, and budgets. The General Manager will improve performance, strengthen workplace discipline, and establish consistent operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage blown film extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, and converting operations.
- Improve equipment effectiveness, reduce downtime and scrap, and maximize material yield.
- Oversee maintenance, warehouse operations, inventory, logistics, and order fulfillment.
- Enforce quality standards for food-safe and industrial packaging; investigate defects and customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Build an accountable,



performance-focused culture and implement SOPs across departments.
- Control operating costs, utilities, staffing, and workforce productivity in partnership with the Managing Director and HR.

Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 10–15 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including at least five years in senior management within plastics packaging in Nigeria or West Africa.
- Strong knowledge of extrusion, molding, polymers, packaging quality, Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S.
- Proven ability to improve operations, lead organizational change, and communicate across all levels.

Job Type: Full time Pay: ₹2,800,000.00 - ₹2,900,000.00 per year
