About the hotel

Kartik Palace is a full-service hotel at Chitaipur, Varanasi, owned by a 35-year-old Varanasi business group in steel, building materials and hospitality. The hotel runs rooms, a restaurant, banquets and events. We want a General Manager who will run it like a business, not just supervise staff.

About the role

You will be the single person accountable for the hotel: revenue, guest experience, staff, costs and compliance. You will report directly to the owner with numbers every week and every month.

Location: Kartik Palace, Chitaipur, Varanasi. Full time, on site.

A. Revenue and sales

- Own the monthly revenue target for rooms, restaurant and banquets, and present a plan to hit it.
- Manage room pricing and inventory on OTAs (MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Agoda, Goibibo) and the channel manager.
- Build corporate, travel agent and wedding or event business in Varanasi and nearby districts.
- Track occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and banquet bookings daily.

B. Operations

- Run front office, housekeeping, F&B;, kitchen, banquets, maintenance and security to fixed SOPs.
- Keep online ratings high: respond to every review and fix the root cause of complaints.
- Plan and supervise weddings, conferences and events from enquiry to final bill.

C. People

- Hire, train, roster and appraise all hotel staff. Set clear duties and hold department heads accountable.




- Control attendance, overtime and staff discipline.

D. Cost control and finance

- Prepare the monthly budget and P&L; with the accounts team and explain every variance.
- Control food cost, purchase, inventory, energy and maintenance spend.
- Ensure cash, card and UPI collections are reconciled daily and credit is recovered on time.

E. Compliance and systems

- Keep all licences current: FSSAI, fire NOC, excise (if applicable), police verification, trade licence, pollution and lift certificates.
- Run the hotel on the PMS, POS and channel manager, and push the team to use them fully.
- Send the owner a weekly report: occupancy, revenue, costs, reviews, staff issues and actions taken.

Who we want

- Graduate, with a degree or diploma in Hotel Management preferred.
- 10+ years in hotels, with at least 3 years as General Manager, Resident Manager or Hotel Manager running a full property.
- Proven results on occupancy and revenue growth, with numbers you can show.
- Hands-on with PMS (IDS, eZee, Hotelogix or similar), OTA extranets and channel managers.
- Robust in banquets and weddings, which drive a large share of hotel business in Varanasi.
- Explicit communication in Hindi and English. Can lead a large team and handle difficult guests calmly.

Interview process Screening call, then an in-person meeting at the hotel with the owner, including a walk-through of the property and a short discussion of your 90-day plan.
