Key Responsibilities

- Precision Thermal Cutting: Carry out protected and accurate gas cutting of ship structural steel materials, channels, and heavy metal plates using various thermal processes like Oxy-acetylene, Plasma arc, Aqua gas, or LPG torches.

- Material Preparation & Edge Fairing: Prepare joints, bevels, and chamfers on heavy plates and pipes prior to welding or fabrication assembly.

- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical blueprints, approved structural drawings, and work instructions to cut metal to exact sizes.

- Slag & Burr Removal: Clean cut edges by chipping, de-slagging, or using portable power grinding tools to ensure smooth surfaces.

- Equipment Maintenance: Set up, calibrate, and check gas cylinders, manifolds, valves, torches, and hoses to prevent leaks and hazards.

- Shipyard Safety Compliance: Strictly follow defense-sector safety regulations, safely handle high-pressure cylinders, and correctly use mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as flame-retardant clothing, leather aprons, and dark cutting goggles.

Pay: ₹10,275.46 - ₹30,917.58 per month
