Role Description This is a full time, on-site fresher role in New Product Development (NPD) Designing based in Chennai. The role involves assisting in the design and development of new electronic, electrical, and mechanical products and components under the guidance of senior engineers.

Daily tasks include creating and updating 2D/3D CAD models, preparing design documentation, and supporting DFM (Design for Manufacturability) activities.



The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and sourcing to refine designs, perform basic tolerance and feasibility checks, and support prototype builds and testing. The role also includes maintaining accurate records of design changes, learning company design standards and industry best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the NPD process.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or electronics engineering principles, preferably with a degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Basic proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) for product and component design.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as PCB assembly, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, and cable/wire harness assembly is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in design and documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Willingness to learn NPD methodologies, DFM concepts, and quality standards (AS9100D, ISO 13485, ISO 9001:2015).
- Basic knowledge of MS Office tools for reports, presentations, and documentation.
