Overview

We are looking for an experienced Cosmetic R&D; / Formulation Consultant to provide independent scientific and technical expertise in the research, formulation, testing, validation, documentation, and product approval of cosmetic and personal-care products.

The consultant will support the complete product-development lifecycle, from research and formulation development through trials, testing, technical documentation, and final product review/approval, while ensuring scientific quality and regulatory alignment.

Role

- Lead or support cosmetic formulation R&D; for new and existing products.
- Develop and review formulations based on defined product objectives, consumer needs, skin/hair concerns, and functional requirements.
- Conduct and document formulation research, ingredient research, literature reviews, and technical evaluations.
- Evaluate the suitability, compatibility, stability, safety, and functionality of raw materials and active ingredients.
- Plan, coordinate, and review laboratory trials, formulation trials, performance testing, and product evaluation.
- Review test results and recommend formulation modifications or optimization.
- Prepare and review technical documents, formulation reports, specifications, protocols, and research documentation.
- Support product testing, validation, stability assessment, and quality evaluation.
- Provide scientific input for product claims and supporting documentation.




- Review the final formulation and supporting technical data before product approval.
- Where legally and professionally permitted, provide authorized qualified review/signature and approval of relevant product documentation.
- Work with R&D;, QA/QC, regulatory, manufacturing, and other technical teams as required.
- Maintain scientific integrity, confidentiality, and appropriate independence in product evaluation.

Educational Background

Preferred qualifications:

- M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or related fields
- M.Pharm / Pharm.D / B.Pharm with relevant cosmetic formulation experience
- Dermatology / Medical qualification with relevant cosmetic or dermatological product-development experience
- Degree or postgraduate qualification in Cosmetic Science / Formulation Science / Chemical Sciences
