Beyond stewardship, the role acts as the finance business partner to the factory leadership, translating manufacturing performance (yield, throughput, cost per carat and inventory) into clear financial insight, so that decisions at the site are informed, timely and aligned with the Group's plans and governance standards.

/ Annual Operating Plan: A realistic, well-supported factory AOP delivered on time, and actual performance tracked against it with variances explained and corrective actions agreed.

/ Financial accuracy: Complete, accurate and timely factory books, with month-end and year-end closes delivered within Group timelines and no material audit adjustments.

/ Management information: Reliable and insightful factory MIS that enables management to understand cost, yield, productivity and working capital performance.

/ Indirect tax and statutory compliance: Zero defaults, interest or penalties on GST, customs and other factory-level statutory obligations, and well-managed assessments and audits.

/ Internal controls: An effective site-level internal control framework, with inventory and asset integrity safeguarded and audit observations closed within agreed timelines.

/ Cost and working capital: Visibility and control of factory costs and inventory, supporting the Group's cost and working capital objectives.

/ 4 Key responsibilities

/ 4.1 Annual Operating Plan and forecasting

/ Lead preparation of the factory AOP in coordination with production, HR, procurement and Group Finance, including volumes, manufacturing costs, headcount, overheads and capital expenditure.

/ Build and maintain cost drivers and standards (for example cost per carat and cost per stone by process stage) that underpin the plan.

/ Prepare periodic rolling forecasts and latest estimates; track actuals against AOP and highlight risks and opportunities early.

/ Evaluate capital expenditure proposals for the factory and monitor spend against approvals.

/ 4.2 Accounting and reporting

/ Oversee day-to-day factory accounting, including payables, payroll accounting, fixed assets, accruals, provisions and inter-company transactions.

/ Deliver month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes to Group timelines, with reconciliations and schedules complete and reviewed.

/ Ensure accurate inventory accounting across rough, work-in-progress and polished stages, including periodic reconciliation of physical and book stock.

/ Support statutory, tax and internal audits as the site point of contact, and prepare audit-ready documentation.

/ Ensure accounting is compliant with Ind AS and Group accounting policies.

/ 4.3 Factory MIS and business partnering

/ Produce the monthly factory MIS pack covering cost per carat, yield and loss, throughput, labour productivity, overhead absorption, inventory ageing and working capital.

/ Analyse cost and performance variances and present clear, actionable insights to the Factory Head and Group Finance.

/ Support product and process costing, make-versus-buy and job-work evaluations, and cost reduction initiatives.

/ Develop and automate reports and dashboards to improve the speed and quality of information.

/ 4.4 Indirect taxes and compliance

/ Manage GST compliance for the factory, including returns, reconciliations, input tax credit, e-invoicing and e-way bills, and job-work provisions.

/ Coordinate other factory-level statutory compliances with the relevant functions (for example professional tax, GST, local body levies and labour-related financial compliances).

/ Handle notices, assessments and audits from tax authorities, working with external consultants where required.

/ Maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar and ensure all filings and payments are made on time.

/ 4.5 Internal controls and governance

/ Design, implement and monitor site-level internal controls over purchasing, payments, payroll, inventory movements and fixed assets, including delegation of authority and segregation of duties.

/ Oversee periodic physical verification of inventory and assets, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.

/ Support compliance with Group governance and industry standards that have financial or record-keeping requirements, such as RJC and Kimberley Process documentation.

/ Track and close internal and statutory audit observations within agreed timelines.

/ Identify control gaps and process improvements, and drive their implementation with local teams.

/ 4.6 People and systems
