Common JD – Finance | Business Finance
Location: Mumbai, Lower Parel
Function: Finance – Business Finance
Experience: 5+ years
Key Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate month-end closure activities, including provisions, accruals, P&L; preparation, profitability analysis, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and circulate monthly Business Review reports, P&L; reports, MIS, and management dashboards.
- Analyse business performance against Last Year (LY), Budget, and Forecast and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, annual business planning, and financial modelling.
- Analyse revenue, margins, costs, profitability, and key business drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to business teams and support commercial and operational decisions through financial analysis.
- Manage inter-company reconciliation, clearance of open items, and RPT workings.
- Maintain P&L; databases, financial models, MIS reports, and dashboards and ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
- Support Audit, Board, Execom, and management reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with Tax, Treasury,
Controllership, and other Finance teams and act as the Finance SPOC for business-related queries.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand performance trends, cost drivers, profitability, and business opportunities.
- Drive process improvements, standardisation, and automation to reduce manual effort and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to finance policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and reporting timelines.
Ideal Candidate – Common for Both
- CA / CMA / MBA Finance / equivalent qualification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Finance, FP&A;, MIS, P&L; analysis, or financial reporting.
- Robust understanding of P&L;, month-end closure, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good stakeholder management and business partnering abilities.
- Robust command of MS Excel and financial reporting/MIS tools.
- Exposure to Power BI, automation, dashboards, or reporting process improvements will be an advantage.
