Faculty – B.Sc. Nursing & GNM

Job Purpose The Faculty member will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical, practical, laboratory, and clinical education to students enrolled in B.Sc. Nursing and General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) programmes. The position involves academic planning, classroom and clinical teaching, student assessment, mentoring, academic documentation, and participation in institutional activities.

The Faculty member is expected to maintain professional standards and contribute to the overall academic development of the Nursing Department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver effective lectures for B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students as per the prescribed curriculum and academic schedule.
- Prepare detailed lesson plans, teaching plans, course materials, presentations, assignments, and other instructional resources.
- Conduct classroom teaching, tutorials, demonstrations, practical sessions, and laboratory-based learning activities.
- Use appropriate teaching methodologies to ensure effective student learning and participation.
- Explain theoretical concepts clearly and relate classroom learning to practical and clinical applications.
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus in accordance with the academic calendar.
- Conduct remedial and additional classes for students requiring academic support.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking,



professional knowledge, communication skills, and clinical competence.

Educational Qualification

- M.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing, as applicable to the position and subject requirements.
- Candidates must possess the required professional registration with the State Nursing Council.
- Candidates must fulfill the applicable eligibility criteria prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and relevant regulatory authorities.

Experience

- Freshers and experienced candidates are eligible to apply.
- Relevant teaching and/or clinical experience in Nursing.
- Experience in teaching B.Sc. Nursing and/or GNM students will be preferred.
- Relevant hospital/clinical experience will be an added advantage.Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice, and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good classroom management and student-handling skills.
- Ability to effectively demonstrate and supervise clinical procedures.

- Ability to motivate, mentor, and guide students effectively.
