About the Role

We're looking for a Fabric & Sourcing Merchandiser to own how Nef's Finds finds, develops, and buys its fabrics and trims.

The ideal candidate should know fabrics inside out (fibres, weaves, GSM, finishes, prints), have a strong network of mills and markets, and be confident negotiating costs, tracking orders, and holding vendors to quality and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

- Source fabrics, trims, and surface techniques that fit Nef's Finds positioning, across mills, wholesalers, and Delhi markets.
- Build and maintain a reliable vendor base for fabrics, trims, dyeing, printing, and embroidery.
- Develop fabric options, swatches, and sampling in coordination with the design team for each collection and drop.
- Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times, and prepare fabric costings for every style.
- Raise purchase orders and track fabric and trim deliveries against production timelines.
- Check incoming fabric for quality, shade, shrinkage, width, and GSM, and flag or reject defective lots.
- Maintain a fabric library with swatches, specs, vendor details, and pricing.
- Coordinate with design, production, and tailoring units so fabric reaches the right place on time.
- Track fabric consumption,



leftover stock, and wastage, and help plan reuse of deadstock where possible.
- Maintain sourcing trackers and costing sheets in Excel/Google Sheets.
- Keep an eye on new fabrics, sustainable options, and market trends that could work for upcoming collections.

Requirements

- Strong working knowledge of fabrics, fibres, weaves, finishes, and basic fabric testing is mandatory.
- Existing network of fabric vendors and mills is required.
- Comfortable with market visits and working directly with vendors and units.
- Good negotiation and costing skills.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with shades, quantities, quality, and timelines.
- Interest in sustainable or deadstock sourcing is a plus.
- Prior experience in a fashion, apparel, or D2C brand is preferred.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2–4 years of fabric sourcing or merchandising experience in a fashion brand
- Candidates with hands-on experience in women's wear will be preferred.
