Electrical Site Engineer

About the Role
M/s A.K. Builders is looking for an experienced and responsible Electrical Site Engineer for our construction project at Pathankot.
The candidate will be responsible for planning, supervision, execution, inspection, testing, commissioning, coordination, and documentation of electrical works at the project site.
The candidate should have practical knowledge of electrical construction and maintenance works and should be capable of coordinating with clients, consultants, electrical contractors, OEMs, suppliers, supervisors, and site teams.
Experience in government, CPWD, MES, PWD, Defence, institutional, commercial, or infrastructure projects will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Site Execution & Supervision
- Manage and supervise day-to-day electrical works at the project site.
- Ensure execution of electrical works as per approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, and applicable standards.
- Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Ensure that work is executed as per approved methodology and project schedule.
- Monitor manpower, materials, tools, and equipment required for electrical works.
- Ensure proper coordination between electrical and civil works.
2. Drawings & Technical Coordination
- Study and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, layouts, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Ensure proper implementation of approved drawings at site.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, electrical engineers, civil engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and OEM representatives.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Raise technical queries and obtain necessary clarification/approval before execution.
- Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.
3. Electrical Installation Supervise and monitor installation of electrical systems, including as applicable:
- LT panels and distribution boards.
- HT/LT electrical systems.
- Cables, cable trays, conduits, and cable trenches.
- Lighting systems.
- Internal and external electrification.
- Earthing and lightning protection systems.
- DG sets and associated electrical works.
- Transformers and associated equipment.
- Pumps and electrical control systems.
- Motors and starters.
- UPS systems.
- Fire alarm systems.
- Building management/control systems, wherever applicable.
- Street lighting and external electrical works.
- Electrical services associated with lifts, HVAC, pumps, and other MEP systems.
4. Testing & Commissioning
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
- Check insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, earthing, and other applicable electrical parameters.
- Coordinate testing of panels, cables, equipment, and electrical systems.
- Coordinate with authorized testing agencies/OEMs wherever required.
- Maintain testing and commissioning records.
- Rectify defects identified during testing and inspection.
- Ensure systems are ready for client/consultant inspection and commissioning.
5. Quality Control
- Ensure electrical works comply with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
- Inspect materials received at site for compliance with approved makes/specifications.
- Ensure proper installation and workmanship.
- Coordinate inspections with the client/consultant.
- Prepare inspection requests and ensure observations are closed within the required time.
- Maintain quality-control and inspection records.
6. Material Management
- Prepare material requirements based on drawings, BOQ, and site requirements.
- Coordinate with the Storekeeper and procurement team for timely availability of materials.
- Verify materials received at site against approved specifications.
- Monitor electrical material consumption and wastage.
- Maintain records of cable, conduit, fittings, electrical accessories, and other materials.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of electrical equipment and materials.
7. Subcontractor & Workforce Management
- Coordinate and supervise electrical subcontractors and labour teams.
- Allocate daily work activities and targets.
- Monitor manpower deployment and productivity.
- Ensure subcontractors follow approved drawings and specifications.
- Check quality and progress of subcontractor works.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for timely completion of activities.
- Report manpower shortages and performance issues to the Project Manager.
8. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Coordinate regularly with the client, consultant, electrical inspectors, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates regarding electrical work progress.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals.
- Address technical observations raised by the client/consultant.
- Maintain proper records of instructions, approvals, inspections, and correspondence.
9. Measurement, Quantity & Billing Support
- Take measurements of executed electrical works.
- Verify quantities against BOQ and approved drawings.
- Assist in preparation and checking of subcontractor bills.
- Assist in preparation of client RA bills.
- Maintain measurement records and supporting documents.
- Monitor actual quantities against BOQ quantities.
- Identify variations and additional works and report them to management.
- Maintain proper records for extra/substituted items wherever applicable.
10. Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Prepare daily and weekly electrical work plans.
- Monitor actual progress against planned targets.
- Coordinate electrical activities with civil, HVAC, fire-fighting, plumbing, and other services.
- Identify potential delays and report them to the Project Manager.
- Ensure timely availability of drawings, materials, manpower, and equipment.
- Assist in maintaining the overall project schedule.
11. Site Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily electrical site progress reports.
- Maintain electrical inspection and testing records.
- Maintain material inspection records.
- Maintain cable laying, megger testing, earthing, and other relevant records.
- Maintain site measurement records.
- Prepare snag lists and monitor rectification.
- Maintain photographic records of work progress.
- Submit regular progress updates to the Project Manager/Head Office.
12. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe execution of all electrical works.
- Ensure workers follow electrical safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE.
- Ensure proper isolation/LOTO procedures wherever applicable.
- Ensure temporary electrical installations are safe.
- Report electrical hazards, accidents, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure proper earthing and protection arrangements.
- Maintain valuable housekeeping at the work site.

Educational Qualification
Required:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Candidates having relevant technical qualifications and strong site experience may also be considered as per project requirements.
Experience
Relevant Electrical Engineering Experience: 3–7 years preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a hands-on Electrical Site Engineer who is comfortable working at an active construction/project site.
The candidate should be capable of independently handling day-to-day electrical execution, coordinating electrical subcontractors and workers, reading drawings, checking installations, managing site measurements, coordinating inspections, solving technical issues, maintaining documentation, and reporting progress to management.
Candidates with experience in government electrical works, CPWD, MES, PWD, Defence, institutional buildings, or large construction projects will be preferred.
