Responsibilities

1. ERP Functional SME

Develop a deep understanding of the organisation's ERP processes, modules and workflows.

Act as the functional SME for ERP-related requirements, issues and enhancements.

Work closely with business users to understand operational requirements and translate them into effective ERP solutions.

Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation and AI-driven optimisation.

Support ERP configuration, enhancements and customisation.

Prepare functional specifications, process documentation and workflow definitions.

Coordinate with development, database and integration teams.

2. Education Domain Expertise

Strong understanding of education-sector processes including:

Student lifecycle management; Admissions and enrollment; Student master data; Academic sessions; Classes, sections, courses and subjects; Faculty/teacher management; Attendance; Examination and assessment; Results and grading; Fee structures and collections; Scholarships and concessions; Student/parent portals; Communication and notifications; Transport and hostel management; HR and payroll; Student documents and certificates; Management reporting and MIS.

The candidate should understand how these processes interact end-to-end.

3. AI & Intelligent ERP — Core Requirement

Practical understanding of AI and its application to ERP and education processes is a key requirement for this role.

The candidate should be able to identify meaningful opportunities where AI can improve existing ERP functionality and business processes.

• AI-powered ERP assistants

• Natural-language querying of ERP data

• AI-driven reporting and MIS

• Intelligent document processing

• Automated extraction of information from documents

• AI-based student/admission support

• Intelligent communication with students and parents

• Knowledge assistants using institutional data

• RAG-based applications over ERP documentation and institutional data





• AI agents and agentic workflows

• Integration of AI services/APIs with ERP systems.

4. MasterSoft ERP Experience

Hands-on experience with MasterSoft Education ERP will be highly desirable.

Exposure to areas such as: Student and academic modules; Admissions; Fees and collections; Examination and assessment; Attendance; HR/payroll; Reporting and MIS; User roles and workflows; Configuration and customisation; Data extraction and reporting; Integrations.

Experience as a key user, functional consultant, implementation specialist or SME will be considered.

5. Functional Architecture & Process Improvement

Map and document end-to-end education business processes.

Conduct functional GAP analysis.

Determine whether requirements should be addressed through existing functionality, configuration, customisation, integration or AI-based solutions.

Define workflows and approval processes.

Identify opportunities for automation and intelligent process improvement.

Define functional requirements and business rules.

Support implementation of new functionality.

6. Database & Technical Understanding

Good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server.

Ability to understand ERP database structures and relationships.

Ability to write and analyse SQL queries.

Understanding of tables, views and stored procedures.

Ability to trace business transactions into the underlying database.

Experience with ERP reporting and data extraction.

Understanding of APIs, integrations, ETL and data migration.

Understanding of data security and access controls.

The role does not require the candidate to be a full-time developer, but they should be technically strong enough to work effectively with development, database and AI teams.

7. ERP Integrations, Analytics & Reporting

Work with technical teams on ERP integrations and APIs.

Understand data flows between ERP and external systems.





Define reporting and MIS requirements.

Support BI and analytics initiatives.

Identify opportunities to combine ERP data with AI and analytics.

Help establish reliable data foundations for AI-enabled applications.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business/Management, Education Administration or a related discipline.
2. Relevant ERP and education-domain experience will be given significant consideration.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

1. 5 years of ERP functional experience, preferably with significant education-sector exposure.
2. Strong understanding of Education ERP / Student Information Systems.
3. Experience across multiple ERP functional areas.
4. Strong business-process analysis and requirements-gathering skills.
5. Strong practical understanding of AI, GenAI and LLM-based applications.
6. Ability to identify practical AI use cases rather than only theoretical knowledge.
7. Good understanding of SQL Server and ERP data structures.
8. Experience working with both business and technical teams.
9. Strong analytical and communication skills.

Strong Advantage

Hands-on experience with MasterSoft Education ERP.

Experience implementing, configuring or customising MasterSoft.

Experience with SQL Server databases associated with ERP systems.

Experience with ERP integrations and data migration.

Experience implementing AI/automation solutions.

Exposure to LLMs, RAG, AI agents or AI-powered enterprise applications.

Experience with BI, analytics and dashboards.

Experience in schools, colleges, universities or education groups.
