Director of Studies – Physics

Coder Pro is a UK-based online education company providing specialist academic curriculum and instruction to international schools. Our current focus is Computer Science, with plans to expand into advanced secondary-school Mathematics and Physics.

We are seeking an experienced Physics educator to join Coder Pro as Director of Studies – Physics.

This is initially a limited, adaptable role focused on academic guidance, program development, and helping establish our Physics offering as new school partnerships are secured.

The Role The Director of Studies – Physics may contribute in areas such as:

- Advising on IGCSE, A-Level, and AP Physics programs
- Helping shape Physics course offerings for prospective school partners
- Reviewing or developing schemes of work, assessments, lessons, practical activities, and teaching resources
- Adapting programs to match the curriculum and needs of individual schools
- Supporting the development of new courses once contracts are secured
- Advising on teacher recruitment and instructional quality
- Participating occasionally in discussions with prospective school partners
- Taking on paid teaching or curriculum-development work as new opportunities arise

Ideal Background

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

- Substantial experience teaching secondary-school Physics
- Strong experience with IGCSE/GCSE Physics
- Strong experience with A-Level Physics
- Experience with AP Physics is highly desirable, particularly AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, and/or AP Physics C




- Strong subject knowledge across advanced secondary Physics
- Experience developing lessons, assessments, schemes of work, practical activities, or full course materials
- A relevant degree in Physics or a closely related physical science or engineering field
- A teaching qualification or degree in Education is highly desirable
- Experience teaching in international schools is desirable but not essential

Previous department leadership experience is welcome, but it is not required. Strong teaching experience and subject expertise are more important.

Commitment and Compensation The initial commitment is expected to be light and flexible.

This is an early-stage founding-team role with no guaranteed paid hours at the outset. The posted hourly rate is indicative of future paid work only.

- Academic oversight
- Teacher support
- A larger ongoing role within Coder Pro

Compensation for specific paid work will be agreed separately.
