About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client’s team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it ideal for professionals seeking a dynamic role in manufacturing design. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing designs using FreeCAD, focusing on precision components essential for industrial applications.

The role involves translating technical specifications into detailed 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring manufacturability and adherence to quality standards. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality assurance is vital to ensure seamless integration of designs into the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design is essential.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.




- Experience in interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision and quality.
- Familiarity with various CAD file formats and data exchange protocols to facilitate smooth collaboration.
- Robust problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify potential manufacturing challenges early in the design process.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models of mechanical components tailored for manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities include

- Designing and modeling mechanical parts and assemblies using FreeCAD, ensuring precision and compliance with technical specifications.
- Collaborating with engineering and production teams to assess design feasibility and optimize manufacturability.
- Modifying existing designs based on feedback from manufacturing and quality assurance teams to enhance performance and reduce costs.




- Generating comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Conducting design reviews to identify potential production challenges and proposing effective solutions.
- Ensuring all designs adhere to industry standards and company quality protocols.
- Maintaining version control and organizing design data for easy access and updates.
