Role Description
Department
This new role sits within the Student Recruitment team, part of Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO) within the wider Directorate of Global Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (GMRA).
The Student
Recruitment team is responsible for recruiting Home undergraduate and postgraduate students to the university through higher education exhibitions, school and college outreach, and large- and small-scale campus events. It is an exciting time to join MRAO as we have a vision and mandate for growth endorsed by the University Executive Board.
Role
Reporting to the Head of Student Recruitment and working closely with the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Schools Liaison and Postgraduate), the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Undergraduate Events) will develop, implement, and manage complex operational plans for undergraduate events and activities across the Home Student Recruitment team. The role holder will provide strategic direction and operational support to a dedicated team, leading them to deliver high-quality, high-impact, efficient, and coordinated undergraduate recruitment events, including Open Days, Post-offer Visit Days and campus tours.
Skills, Experience & Qualification Needed
You will have extensive experience in managing teams and delivering large- and small-scale undergraduate recruitment events within a fast-paced, complex workplace.
A proven track record of maximising customer experience and meeting ambitious event delivery and student conversion targets is essential. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as cultivating a positive, supportive, and adaptable team culture.
You will be an exceptional communicator with a particularly strong, confident public speaking style.
Location & Working Pattern
This role is largely based on-site at our Heslington campus in York. Regular campus attendance is required for frequent in-person meetings, event planning and set up, and all key university events, including Open Days and Post-Offer Visit Days.
