Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Migration Lead with strong hands-on expertise in dbt (Data Build Tool) and data migration/data transformation projects.

The candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating end-to-end data migration activities, ensuring that data is accurately transformed, validated, and migrated to the target system. The role requires a combination of hands-on dbt expertise, data engineering knowledge, migration experience, and team/stakeholder management .

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end data migration and data transformation activities from planning through execution.
- Work extensively with dbt (Data Build Tool) for building and managing data transformation workflows.
- Define data migration strategies, processes, controls, and best practices.
- Develop and optimize dbt models and transformation pipelines .
- Ensure migrated data is accurate, complete, consistent,



and ready for use in the target system.
- Perform or oversee data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks .
- Identify migration-related risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
- Monitor migration activities to ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with data engineering, business, application, and other cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot data migration and transformation issues and provide scalable solutions.
- Participate in key technical and project-level decisions.
- Guide and mentor junior team members.

Mandatory Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) .
- Strong experience in data migration and/or data transformation projects .
- Good understanding of ETL/ELT and data engineering concepts .
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Experience developing and maintaining data transformation workflows/pipelines.
- Understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes.
- Experience identifying and resolving data migration issues.
- Experience coordinating with multiple technical and business teams.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and guide team members.

Preferred/Relevant Experience Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar technologies would be relevant.

Candidates with experience in dbt Core or dbt Cloud , data warehousing, cloud data migration, and large-scale transformation projects would be preferred.
