About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support our enterprise data architecture. You will work closely with data architects, security teams, and analytics stakeholders to ensure the seamless ingestion, processing, and storage of data across various platforms.

Your expertise will contribute to building scalable, secure, and effective data solutions that support AI/ML initiatives, business analytics, and reporting requirements.

This position requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data ecosystems, particularly within AWS, and hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and frameworks. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess excellent problem-solving skills to navigate complex data challenges effectively.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or related roles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms, including services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, and Redshift.




- Proficiency in building and managing data pipelines using ETL/ELT frameworks and workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with familiarity in CLI and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation being advantageous.
- Experience working with lakehouse architectures and multi-zone storage patterns (landing, raw, enriched/curated).
- Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata practices.
- Understanding of streaming and real-time data processing patterns using tools such as Kinesis or Kafka.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within large, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting batch, near-real-time, API, and streaming ingestion from diverse data sources, both internal and external.
- Develop, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT workflows across raw, enriched, and curated data layers within a cloud-based lakehouse environment.
- Implement and manage various data storage solutions suitable for structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data formats.
- Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to translate platform designs into reliable, production-ready implementations.
- Enforce data governance standards, including data quality checks, lineage tracking, classification, tagging, and access controls to ensure data security and compliance.




- Create and maintain reusable data products that serve AI/ML models and analytics teams across multiple business domains.
- Monitor data pipeline health, implement observability practices, and set up logging and alerting mechanisms to ensure data reliability and timely issue resolution.
- Work with orchestration and scheduling tools to automate complex data workflows, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with security teams to ensure all data pipelines adhere to data classification, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to platform documentation, participate in code reviews, and promote engineering best practices within the team.
