About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cybersecurity Expert to join our team on an hourly contract basis. This role is pivotal in supporting Synthires' AI research projects focused on cybersecurity evaluation. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of enterprise security operations, incident response, threat detection, and security architecture.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop realistic cybersecurity scenarios, create reference outputs, and build comprehensive evaluation frameworks that mirror real-world security environments. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum of five years of professional experience in cybersecurity roles such as Security Engineer, CISO, or Security Lead. You should have a proven track record in managing incident response, security architecture, or compliance initiatives, with a strong grasp of current cybersecurity threats and tooling. Familiarity with industry frameworks like NIST CSF, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or EU NIS2 is essential.

Excellent analytical skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively are critical for success in this role.





Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are highly desirable and will strengthen your application.

Responsibilities

- Develop comprehensive cybersecurity scenarios that encompass SOC monitoring, incident response, digital forensics, vulnerability management, and security architecture.
- Create detailed tasks related to threat detection, penetration testing, security engineering, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).
- Design and implement scenarios utilizing tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, and enterprise GRC platforms.
- Apply threat modeling, incident response, and risk assessment methodologies to ensure realistic and challenging evaluation environments.
- Produce detailed incident reports, security assessments, architecture designs, and compliance documentation to support project objectives.
- Develop evaluation rubrics that accurately distinguish authentic enterprise security judgment from generic or theoretical knowledge, ensuring practical relevance and rigor.
