About the Client

Our client is a leading North American transportation and logistics provider. It delivers premium, time-critical freight services to freight forwarders, airlines, third-party logistics providers and large enterprise shippers. Accurate, well-governed customer data is central to its operation: every shipment depends on it to be rated, billed, serviced and reported correctly.

The Role

In a high-volume logistics network, the customer account drives everything downstream: rating, billing, invoicing, credit, service execution and reporting. As CDM Architect, you will own the platform and the discipline that make that data trustworthy.

The customer master is built on Oracle Fusion Customer Data Management. It is the enterprise’s single source of truth for customer accounts, hierarchies and enrichment, and it publishes the golden record to Salesforce CRM, transportation management systems, billing, order management and finance/ERP.

This is a senior, hands-on role spanning two areas:

- Managed Services: production stability, incident and publish-queue resolution, and reconciliation.
- Engineering Services: enhancements, integrations, Fusion customisation and Oracle Groovy development.

You will also set standards and mentor the teams who support the platform.

Why it matters: a single incorrect attribute, such as a wrong hierarchy, bill-to, credit term or division, can cause misbilling, revenue leakage and service failures downstream. Your job is to design those errors out.

What You’ll Do

Master Data Architecture & Strategy

- Define the customer master data architecture, roadmap and target-state design.
- Establish MDM principles, hierarchy models, attribute ownership and golden-record definitions.
- Design account structures that serve sales, operations, billing, credit and finance at the same time.
- Set data standards, including naming conventions, address standardisation,



validation frameworks and survivorship rules.
- Lead modernisation of the platform, its integration layer and the Fusion customisation strategy.

Solution & Integration Architecture

- Produce architecture blueprints, integration patterns, reference architectures and technical designs.
- Architect how customer data is published and synchronised to CRM, TMS, billing and finance systems.
- Define API standards, publish and event patterns, authentication, error handling, and retry and replay strategies.
- Lead design-review governance and approve high-impact changes to the customer domain.

Data Governance & Quality

- Own customer data quality: completeness, accuracy, uniqueness and timeliness.
- Implement duplicate prevention, match-and-merge logic and validation at the point of entry.
- Lead standardisation, enrichment and cleansing programmes.
- Define stewardship workflows for account creation, enrichment and movement between divisions.

Production Operations & Reliability

- Set the support model, monitoring standards and reliability targets for the CDM platform.
- Oversee incident triage and restoration for data and integration failures.
- Govern publish-queue monitoring and resolve failed account publications.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem management so recurring issues get permanent fixes.

Engineering Leadership

- Provide technical leadership on user stories, enhancements and new integrations.
- Guide Fusion customisation, validation rules and Groovy-based development.
- Review designs and code, and enforce engineering best practice.
- Mentor engineers and support analysts across distributed teams.

Reconciliation, Governance & Compliance

- Define reconciliation controls between the customer master, CRM and operational systems,



with exception handling and reporting that protect billing accuracy.
- Resolve cross-system discrepancies and coordinate corrective action.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit and data-privacy requirements.
- Contribute to architecture review boards and data-governance forums.

- Data integrity: attributes stay consistent across CRM, TMS and billing, with fewer data defects.
- Sync reliability: higher publish success rate and fewer failed account publications.
- Production stability: lower incident volume, faster resolution and fewer repeat issues.
- Billing accuracy: less misbilling traced to customer or hierarchy errors.
- Architecture maturity: standards and governed change are adopted across the domain.
- Delivery: enhancements and recent integrations are delivered predictably.

What You’ll Bring

Essential

- 7 years in enterprise applications, data architecture or MDM.
- 5 years designing customer master data solutions in large, integrated environments.
- Deep, hands-on expertise in Oracle Fusion CDM and Fusion customisations.
- Strong command of enterprise integration patterns, API design and publish or event-based synchronisation.
- A track record of stabilising large-scale production systems and integration pipelines.
- Demonstrated ownership of data governance, reconciliation and data-quality frameworks.
- Experience leading distributed engineering and support teams.

Desirable

- Oracle Fusion CDM or Oracle Cloud certifications.
- TOGAF or an equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain or another high-volume, billing-heavy industry.
- Knowledge of Salesforce as a downstream consumer of master data.
- Hands-on Oracle Groovy scripting.
- Cloud experience, ideally Microsoft Azure.
