We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Microbiologist to join our healthcare team. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing microbiology laboratory operations, ensuring accurate diagnostic testing, and maintaining quality and infection-control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage day-to-day microbiology laboratory operations.
- Interpret and validate microbiological test results.
- Handle and report culture, sensitivity, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, and other microbiology investigations.
- Provide clinical consultation regarding infectious diseases and laboratory findings.
- Ensure proper sample collection, processing, testing, and reporting procedures.
- Monitor antimicrobial susceptibility testing and antibiotic resistance patterns.
- Maintain quality control and quality assurance standards in the laboratory.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other departments regarding microbiology reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laboratory, infection-control, and safety protocols.
- Participate in infection control and antimicrobial stewardship activities.
- Guide and supervise laboratory technicians and junior staff.
- Maintain proper documentation, records, and laboratory reports.
Eligibility
- MD/DNB in Microbiology from a recognized institution.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic microbiology and laboratory procedures.
- Valuable communication and clinical coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively with doctors, laboratory staff, and hospital departments.
