Role Description The Consultant Clinical Hematology role is a full-time, in office position based in Siliguri at Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital. The consultant will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with hematological disorders, including outpatient consultations, inpatient management, and participation in multidisciplinary case discussions. Daily responsibilities include reviewing clinical histories and investigations, planning and monitoring treatment protocols, supervising transfusion practices, and coordinating with pathology and oncology teams.
The role also involves contributing to clinical audits,
mentoring junior medical staff, participating in departmental meetings, and supporting continuous improvement in patient safety and care standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Clinical Hematology, with the ability to manage a broad spectrum of hematological conditions.
- Experience or interest in Clinical Trials and Research, including evidence-based practice and protocol-driven care.
- Skills in Training and mentoring residents, junior doctors, and clinical support staff in hematology-related practices.
- Competence in Project Management for clinical initiatives, quality improvement programs, and departmental development activities.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Hematology or related specialty (e.g., MD Medicine with DM/DNB Hematology or equivalent), as per applicable regulatory standards.
- Current medical registration and eligibility to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient-centered care, and continuous professional development.
