Studio Kosm is a comic studio creating worlds to wander, characters to follow, and stories to get lost in. We’re building original webcomics in the fantasy genre, with a focus on immersive worlds, strong characters, and visual storytelling that makes you want to keep reading.

We’re looking for a Comic Artist to help bring these stories to life. You’ll work closely with our writer and creative producer, translating scripts into finished vertical-scroll episodes while having the flexibility to contribute your own ideas and artistic judgement.

Part-time. Fully remote. Approximately 20–30 hours a week. Flexible working hours.

? THE ROLE

Your work will include:

- Creating high-quality artwork for vertically scrolling webcomic episodes
- Working with the writer and creative producer on visual development, storytelling, and worldbuilding
- Designing memorable, expressive characters
- Developing environments and backgrounds, including scenes that may use assets or 3D environments
- Maintaining consistency in character designs, environments, and visual style across episodes
- Creating concept art and promotional visuals when required

? HOW YOU’LL WORK

We’re not looking for someone who simply executes instructions panel by panel. We want artists with a point of view: someone who can spot a better composition, suggest a stronger visual beat, solve a storytelling problem visually, and bring their own artistic judgement to the work.

You’ll work independently while collaborating closely with the writer and creative producer, so clear communication and responsiveness to feedback are important. You’ll also be expected to manage your own time and consistently deliver work by agreed deadlines.

?️ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Strong drawing fundamentals and comic-specific storytelling skills, such as anatomy, perspective, composition, colour, lettering, and lighting
- Strong character design and illustration skills

- The ability to create convincing environments and backgrounds
- Proficiency with digital illustration software such as Clip Studio Paint, Adobe Photoshop, or equivalent
- The ability to work independently while responding thoughtfully to creative direction and feedback
- Reliable communication and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Work must be original, with absolutely no AI involvement at any stage of the process

Nice to have:

- Experience reading and creating comics, manga, webcomics, graphic novels, or other sequential art
- Familiarity with the vertical-scroll webcomic format
- Experience with Clip Studio Paint

✨ WHAT YOU’LL GET

- You’ll have genuine input into how scenes, characters, and worlds are visually developed. You’ll have the prospect to explore visual ideas, contribute to worldbuilding, and develop your own creative voice within each project.
- You’ll be joining Studio Kosm at an early stage and helping shape original stories and visual worlds from the beginning. We’re interested in building lasting relationships with artists and continuing to work together across stories and projects as the studio grows.

? HOW TO APPLY

1. Complete the LinkedIn application.
2. Send your resume along with your samples and artwork to [email protected] with the subject line Comic Artist - [Your Name].

You can include:
- Comic pages, webcomic episodes, or sequential art samples
- Character design and illustration samples
- Background or environment artwork
- Personal projects that demonstrate your storytelling and artistic abilities

A formal portfolio website or document isn’t required. If your best work lives in a folder, PDF, Drive link, or elsewhere, send that instead. We care about the work first. Your degree, years of experience, or formal portfolio setup matter less than what you can actually create.

We’re interested in seeing how you draw, how you tell stories, and what kind of worlds you like to create.
