CockroachDB DBA

Job Summary

We are hiring an experienced CockroachDB Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in managing and supporting CockroachDB (CRDB) production environments.

The candidate will be responsible for database administration, cluster management, performance optimization, backup/recovery, replication, high availability, monitoring, and database security.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain CockroachDB/CRDB clusters.
- Manage database nodes, clusters, replicas, and configurations.
- Perform database performance tuning and optimization.
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.
- Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
- Configure and troubleshoot replication and high availability.
- Support multi-node and multi-region CockroachDB environments.
- Perform database upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot database, query, connectivity, and cluster issues.
- Implement database security, including RBAC, authentication, authorization, and TLS/SSL.




- Work with DevOps, SRE, application, and infrastructure teams.
- Participate in production support, incident management, and root-cause analysis.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with CockroachDB / CRDB.
- Experience as a CockroachDB DBA / Database Engineer / DBRE.
- Strong knowledge of Distributed SQL / Distributed Databases.
- Experience in cluster administration and management.
- Robust knowledge of performance tuning.
- Experience with backup & recovery / disaster recovery.
- Good understanding of replication and high availability.
- Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Strong SQL and Linux/Unix skills.
- Knowledge of database security and access management.
