Role Description The CNC Lathe Operator and Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based at SCUBE Industries in Navi Mumbai. This role is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, creating and optimizing CNC programs, selecting tools and fixtures, performing machine setup, and monitoring machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.

The role also involves inspecting parts using measuring instruments, performing routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting machining issues, and collaborating with engineering and quality teams to improve processes.



The CNC Lathe Operator and Programmer is expected to follow all safety protocols, maintain production records, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Qualifications

- Strong CNC lathe operation and setup skills, including experience with tooling selection, workholding, and process optimization.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, M-code, and relevant CAM software) and ability to modify programs for efficiency and quality.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and geometric tolerances (GD&T;).
- Competence in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators for quality checks.
- Solid understanding of machining principles, cutting parameters, materials used in oil and gas equipment, and basic mechanical concepts.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with adherence to safety standards, quality procedures, and documentation practices.
- Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Machining Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reliability in meeting production targets.
- Prior experience in machining components for oil and gas, flow control, or similar precision-engineered products is an advantage.
