NorthBridge Infra Energy Private Limited is looking for a Civil Design & Estimation Engineer to support our portfolio of Transmission & Distribution and Solar EPC projects.

This is a techno-commercial engineering role involving both pre-bid tender estimation and post-award civil engineering/design.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering & Pre-Bid Engineering

- Study tender documents, technical specifications, drawings and civil BOQs.
- Prepare detailed civil cost estimates for EPC/tender submissions.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and rate analysis for RCC, PCC, reinforcement, structural steel, earthwork, roads, drains, buildings, cable trenches, foundations and other civil works.
- Develop costing for tenders where an item-wise BOQ is provided.
- For lump-sum / job-work / turnkey tenders, develop preliminary civil layouts, design assumptions and quantities required for competitive costing.
- Estimate quantities for major civil works including:
- Equipment and transformer foundations
- Control room/substation buildings
- Cable trenches
- Internal roads and paving
- Storm-water drainage
- Boundary walls and fencing
- Structural steel and RCC works
- Solar module/inverter/transformer foundations
- Other associated infrastructure
- Prepare rate analyses based on material, labour, machinery, subcontracting and site conditions.
- Obtain and technically evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations.
- Identify cost optimisation and value-engineering opportunities during tender preparation.
- Support the tendering team in preparing competitive and technically compliant bids.

Post-Award Engineering

- Prepare and/or review civil engineering calculations, drawings and construction details.




- Develop detailed BOQs and quantity estimates based on approved engineering.
- Prepare/review foundation, RCC and structural drawings.
- Prepare/review reinforcement details and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
- Coordinate civil engineering requirements with electrical, structural and project teams.
- Review vendor and consultant drawings.
- Support site teams in resolving engineering and construction-related queries.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable IS codes, project specifications and client requirements.

Candidate Profile

- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Preferably 3–7 years of experience in civil estimation, design or tender engineering.
- Experience in substations, transmission & distribution, solar EPC, power projects or industrial EPC is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of RCC works, foundations, structural steel, earthwork and infrastructure works.
- Positive knowledge of quantity take-off, BOQ preparation and rate analysis.
- Ability to interpret tender drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Ability to develop preliminary quantities/design concepts even where detailed drawings or BOQs are not available.
- Working knowledge of applicable IS codes and civil/structural engineering practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Excel is essential.
- Knowledge of STAAD.Pro / ETABS / SAFE or similar structural design software will be an advantage.
- Experience with CPWD/DSR or similar schedule-of-rates-based costing will be an advantage.
