About the Company

Digital Matrix Innovations is a creative content and marketing agency based in Jail Road, Tilak Nagar, Recent Delhi.

We work with brands across content creation, social media, branding, performance marketing, creative campaigns, photography, video production, and digital growth.

We are building a team of creators rather than just employees.

We want people who are strong at their craft but also have a creator mindset, people who understand storytelling, visual culture, content trends, and how to turn an idea into something people actually want to watch.

As the company grows, we want our team members to grow with it — creatively, professionally, and financially.

About the Role

We are looking for a Cinematographer / Videographer who can translate scripts, concepts, campaigns, and creative briefs into visually strong video content.

The ideal candidate should understand much more than simply operating a camera.

You should have a strong sense of:

- Composition
- Lighting
- Camera movement
- Framing
- Lenses
- Visual storytelling
- Mood
- Brand tonality
- Shot planning
- Social-first content

You should be able to understand what a video is trying to communicate and decide how it should be shot to make that story stronger.

Key Responsibilities

- Shoot high-quality content for brand campaigns, social media, advertisements, product videos, founder content, UGC-style content, interviews, lifestyle shoots, and promotional films.
- Translate scripts, concepts, moodboards, and creative briefs into shot plans and visual executions.
- Plan framing, lighting, camera movement, lens selection, and composition based on the intended mood and story.
- Work closely with creative strategists, content strategists, video editors, designers, creators, and social media teams.
- Participate in pre-production planning, shot breakdowns, location planning, and creative discussions.
- Direct talent, creators, founders, or models when required to achieve natural and visually strong performances.
- Capture both planned shots and spontaneous moments that can strengthen the final content.
- Shoot content in multiple formats including vertical, horizontal, social-first, performance ads, and campaign formats.
- Maintain consistent visual quality across different brands and projects.
- Understand different brand tonalities such as premium, luxury, youthful, corporate, lifestyle, D2C, and cinematic.
- Handle basic lighting setups for indoor and outdoor shoots.
- Work with gimbals, tripods, handheld setups, microphones, lighting equipment, and other production gear.
- Coordinate closely with editors so the footage is captured in a way that supports the final edit.
- Organise and manage footage, cards, backups, and production files professionally.
- Handle multiple client projects and shoot requirements simultaneously.

Creative & Storytelling Expectations We are not looking for someone who simply presses record.

We want someone who thinks:

- What is the story?
- What should the audience feel?

- What is the strongest opening shot?
- Which framing will make the product look premium?
- Should this scene feel handheld and natural or controlled and cinematic?
- What movement will improve the scene?
- What footage will the editor actually need?
- How can we capture enough variations to make multiple pieces of content?

The cinematographer should actively contribute to the creative direction of the shoot, not only execute camera instructions.

Creator Mindset

We are especially interested in someone who:

- Actively follows creators, campaigns, music videos, advertisements, films, and social media content.
- Understands current visual and video trends.
- Experiments with framing, lighting, movement, transitions, and new shooting styles.
- Can think both cinematically and social-first.
- Brings references and ideas to shoots.
- Understands how content needs to perform on Instagram, YouTube, Meta Ads, and other platforms.
- Is willing to appear behind or occasionally in front of the camera when required.
- Wants to build their own creative identity and grow with the company.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of camera operation and cinematography fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge of composition, exposure, shutter speed, ISO, aperture, white balance, and frame rates.
- Good understanding of lenses and focal lengths.
- Strong practical knowledge of lighting.
- Experience shooting with DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras.
- Comfortable using gimbals, tripods, handheld rigs, microphones, and lighting equipment.
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and shot continuity.
- Ability to work from moodboards, shot lists, scripts, and references.
- Understanding of vertical and short-form content production.
- Basic knowledge of editing in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar software will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of colour grading will be an advantage.
- Photography skills will be an advantage.
- Drone operation will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted production/pre-visualisation tools will be a plus.

Experience

- 3–4 years of relevant professional experience in cinematography, videography, content production, advertising, filmmaking, or agency work.
- Experience working on brand campaigns, product shoots, social content, advertisements, or commercial productions will be preferred.
- Agency experience or experience working across multiple brands will be an advantage.

Portfolio Requirement A strong showreel / portfolio is mandatory. We would especially like to see:

- Brand films
- Product shoots
- Lifestyle content
- Social media videos
- Commercial advertisements

- Interview/founder content
- Cinematic work
- Low-light work
- Indoor studio work
- Outdoor shoots
- Creative camera movement
- Lighting setups

Candidates should clearly mention what they personally shot and what their role was in each project.
