Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the Role The company is looking for an entrepreneurial, business-driven and purpose-led Chief Operating Officer to lead the organization through its next phase of growth. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Chief Growth Officer, this senior operating leader will drive organizational growth, fundraising, donor relationships, corporate partnerships, financial sustainability, governance, and compliance, while overseeing a team of 15-25 people and an annual organizational budget of approximately 15-25 crore.

What You Will Do

1. Drive sustainable organizational growth with clear annual targets and accountability
2. Develop and manage a robust pipeline of corporate partnerships, CSR opportunities, institutional funding and strategic collaborations
3. Build relationships with CEOs, CXOs, CSR leaders, foundations, philanthropists, government bodies and other key stakeholders
4. Identify new revenue and fundraising opportunities for long-term organizational sustainability
5. Develop scalable partnership models beyond one-time donations or projects
6. Lead fundraising initiatives, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns and events
7. Manage and strengthen key donor and institutional relationships
8. Provide strategic direction to senior leaders managing healthcare, education, employability, skilling and environmental sustainability initiatives
9. Establish operational goals, review performance and improve organizational efficiency

Introduce systems, processes and tools to improve operational effectiveness
11. Work closely with the Board of Trustees to establish organizational priorities and monitor progress
12. Oversee grants management, contract management and department budgets
13. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and governance requirements
14. Develop and implement policies, procedures and long-term strategies aligned with the organization's mission
15. Build, mentor and develop high-performing teams and future leaders
16. Represent the organization at high-level forums, conferences, donor meetings and strategic platforms
17. Strengthen IGF's brand and reputation nationally and globally
18. Build partnerships with government, corporate, civil society and other external stakeholders
19. Drive innovation and program growth to maximize social impact
20. Act as a key spokesperson and advocate for the organization's mission

What We're Looking For

1. Minimum 10 years of overall experience, with strong experience in the social sector, program management and fundraising
2. At least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role
3. Strong experience in fundraising, donor relations and stakeholder engagement
4. Experience managing large teams and significant organizational budgets/P&L;
5. Proven ability to build, lead and mentor teams
6. Strong understanding of governance, compliance and financial management
7. Excellent communication, negotiation, networking and public-speaking skills
8. Master's degree in Public Policy/Management or MBA from a reputed institution preferred; strong equivalent leadership experience in nonprofit/foundation operations will also be considered
9. Experience in a major philanthropic organization or social-impact environment is preferred
