About CareMonitor
CareMonitor is an established, fast growing, healthcare SaaS company that provides a clinicial software platform used to connect clinicians across the healthcare system to facilitate the productive delivery of community-based healthcare. The software is used by public and private hospitals, private health insurers and other large health service organisations to enable them to deliver efficient, co-ordinated clinical care at scale from multi-disciplinary healthcare providers to patients in settings generally outside of a hospital or healthcare facility, such as hospital-in-the-home and remote patient monitoring services.
With the increasing pressure on hospital systems in the form of capacity constraints and rising costs, more and more clinical services are being delivered outside of hospital facilities and in community-based settings. CareMonitor’s enterprise software platform is an essential tool relied upon by large healthcare organisations to deliver these models of clinical care.
About the Role
CareMonitor is looking for a high-calibre Chief of Staff to act as the primary operational partner to provide leverage to the CEO. This role is built for an experienced operator who also possesses a sharp commercial and strategic mind, along with strong analytical capability and an ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to a successful outcome. You will report to and work closely with the CEO and will also collaborate with the broader senior leadership team on special projects and key operational initiatives across the sales, product, engineering, finance and clinical areas of the business.
You will spend approximately 75% of your time driving company-wide execution of key business initiatives and special projects, helping to run the operating rhythm of the leadership team, and building scalable internal operations. The remaining 25% will focus on long-term strategy, market positioning, and high-level governance. Functional leaders will remain accountable for the performance and delivery of their respective functions.
Operational Execution (75% of the Role)
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Own and execute agreed critical cross-functional projects across Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance and Clinical Compliance, while supporting functional leaders to ensure responsibilities are clear and milestones are met on time.
- Build the Scale-Up Engine: Standardise operational workflows, internal systems, and communication loops across a rapidly growing, cross-functional team.
- Track Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and report on company-wide KPIs and OKRs,
surfacing critical operational risks and bottlenecks directly to the CEO before they impact growth or delivery.
- Improve Coordination and Delivery: Serve as a connective link across departments by improving alignment, resolving cross-functional friction and running effective leadership meetings.
- Strengthen Accountability: Maintain visibility of company priorities, decisions and commitments, working with responsible leaders to ensure agreed actions are completed.
Strategic Advisory & Governance (25% of the Role)
- Analysis: Support the decision making of the CEO with critical commercial and financial analysis.
- Strategic Market Positioning: Partner with the CEO to evaluate product expansion paths, competitive threats, and strategic enterprise healthcare partnerships.
- CEO Proxy & Alignment: Step into high-level commercial or strategic discussions as the CEO's trusted proxy where specifically delegated, ensuring external stakeholders remain aligned with company goals. Escalate material commercial, financial, customer, people, and strategic decisions to the CEO in accordance with agreed authority limits.
- Executive Support: Act as a trusted adviser and sounding board to the CEO on strategic, operational and organisational matters. Help ensure the CEO remains focused on the company’s highest-value priorities by coordinating follow-up and execution across the organisation. Leverage the CEO by supporting him with preparation, follow-through on action items and internal co-ordination to keep key projects moving.
Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years of professional experience, ideally including 3+ years in a professional services or business advisory role such as accounting, transaction advisory, management consulting or investment banking and a further 2+ years in an operating or strategy role within a SME business, scale-up or start up, including experience working closely with C-suite executives.
- Disciplined Execution: Exceptional project management capabilities; a proven track record of taking complex, ambiguous ideas, taking ownership of unstructured problems and turning them into structured processes and measurable outcomes.
- Healthcare/Health-Tech Exposure and/or B2B SaaS (Preferred): Familiarity with healthcare business,
enterprise health-system selling cycles, or healthcare workflows is highly regarded but not strictly required. Experience with B2B SaaS businesses is also highly regarded but not a prerequisite.
- High EQ & Low Ego: Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to navigate sensitive executive relationships, challenge assumptions constructively, and lead via influence rather than direct authority.
Success in the First 12 Months
- Establish Operating Rhythm: Implement a consistent executive and company operating cadence.
- Strengthen Accountability: Ensure company priorities have clear owners, milestones, and decision points, with leadership commitments followed through.
- Improve Performance Visibility: Implement a practical company-wide performance dashboard and improve visibility of strategic initiatives, dependencies, and material delivery risks.
- Improve Executive Effectiveness: Improve the clarity and timeliness of executive reporting and reduce the CEO time spent chasing actions and resolving avoidable operational friction.
