About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, articulate, and skilled Chess Trainer to join our growing chess academy. In this dual-impact role, you will train aspiring players at our core academy center and represent the academy by conducting structured chess coaching sessions at partner schools. You will play a crucial role in introducing students to the game, developing competitive talents, and building a strong chess culture.
Key Responsibilities1. Academy Coaching
- Conduct engaging group and individual chess classes for students of varying age groups and skill levels (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced).
- Design lesson plans covering opening principles, tactical patterns, endgame strategies, and positional understanding.
- Analyze student games, track individual progress, and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for local, state, national, and FIDE-rated tournaments.
2. School Outreach & In office Training
- Travel to partner schools as scheduled to conduct regular after-school chess clubs, extracurricular classes, or specialized training camps.
- Act as the academy’s ambassador within schools, maintaining professional relationships with school management, sports coordinators, and parents.
- Identify talented students during school sessions and guide them toward advanced training pathways at the main academy.
- Manage student attendance, classroom discipline, and safe transit of academy materials (if applicable) during school visits.
3. Administration & Events
- Maintain records of student performance, attendance, and syllabus completion.
- Assist in organizing academy-internal tournaments, championships, and summer/winter camps.
- Participate in regular trainer meetings to share best practices and upgrade curriculum modules.
Candidate Requirements
- Playing Experience & Rating: Strong playing background; a FIDE rating (or local equivalent) is preferred.
- Coaching Experience: Minimum [1–3] years of experience coaching children or youth in chess (school or academy settings).
- Certifications: FIDE Trainer title (DI, NI, FI) or national federation (e.g., AICF) certification is a strong advantage.
- Mobility: Flexibility and willingness to travel to assigned local schools during working hours.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a natural ability to connect with children.
- Punctuality, reliability, and professional code of conduct.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
