About True Hope FoundationTrue Hope Foundation is a social impact organization working across multiple causes, including disaster relief, medical assistance, animal welfare, education, and humanitarian support. We are looking for an experienced and highly responsible Chartered Accountant (CA) to lead and manage the organization's accounting, taxation, audit, financial compliance, and reporting functions.
Job SummaryThe Chartered Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the complete Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Audit, and Regulatory Compliance functions of True Hope Foundation.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in NGO/Section 8 Company accounting and taxation, statutory compliance, audits, financial reporting, budgeting, donor fund management, and internal financial controls.
The CA will work closely with the senior management team and provide financial advice, reporting, compliance guidance, and strategic financial insights to support the organization's operations and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the organization's complete accounting and finance operations.
- Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, vouchers, reconciliations, and supporting financial documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, MIS reports, cash-flow statements, and management reports.
- Handle accounting and compliance requirements applicable to NGOs, charitable organizations, and Section 8 Companies.
- Ensure timely compliance with Income Tax, TDS, GST, and other applicable taxation regulations.
- Manage and coordinate Statutory Audit, Tax Audit, Internal Audit, and other financial audits.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks, government authorities, and other financial institutions.
- Ensure timely filing of all applicable financial and statutory returns.
- Manage compliance related to 12A, 80G, CSR funds, grants, and donations, wherever applicable.
- Monitor utilization of donations and restricted funds and ensure funds are utilized according to approved purposes.
- Prepare and review Fund Utilization Reports and Utilization Certificates wherever required.
- Maintain proper documentation for donations, grants, CSR contributions, vendor payments, and program expenses.
- Review vendor invoices, payments, reimbursements, purchase documentation, and expense approvals.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, payment gateway reconciliations, donation reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny.
- Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls, accounting policies, SOPs, and approval processes.
- Identify financial and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions to management.
- Assist management with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial strategy.
- Monitor budgets against actual expenditure and highlight significant variances.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to the Directors and Senior Management Team.
- Ensure transparency and accountability in the utilization of donor and organizational funds.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and ensure financial records are properly organized and retained.
- Guide and supervise Accounts Executives and other members of the Finance & Accounts team.
- Stay updated with changes in taxation, accounting standards, NGO regulations, and other statutory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI.
- Minimum 5+ years of post-qualification experience in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, and Audit.
- Experience working with an NGO, Section 8 Company,
charitable organization, CSR foundation, or social-impact organization will be highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and applicable taxation and statutory regulations.
- Solid understanding of TDS, GST, Income Tax, 12A, 80G, CSR-related accounting and compliance.
- Knowledge of FCRA accounting and compliance will be an advantage, wherever applicable.
- Experience handling statutory and internal audits.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software such as Tally / Tally Prime and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation, financial reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of financial accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage deadlines, audits, compliance requirements, and multiple financial responsibilities.
- High standards of integrity, confidentiality, transparency, and professional ethics.
