The Business Development Manager – Architects, Interior Designers & Corporate will be responsible for driving B2B business growth by developing and managing relationships with the Architect and Interior Design (AID) community as well as Corporate and Institutional clients .
The role will involve identifying new projects and business opportunities, generating qualified leads, developing relationships with key decision-makers, presenting The Sleep Company’s products and solutions, and managing the sales cycle from lead generation to order closure and payment realization .
The candidate will be expected to regularly meet Architects, Interior Designers, Project Consultants, Corporate Procurement Heads, Facility Managers, Admin Heads, HR/Workplace Teams, Developers and other decision-makers to identify upcoming projects and convert them into business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities1. Architect & Interior Designer (AID) Business
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Architects, Interior Designers, Design Studios and Project Consultants .
- Build a strong network of current Architects and Interior Designers in the assigned territory.
- Identify upcoming residential, commercial, hospitality, office, healthcare and institutional projects .
- Understand project requirements and identify opportunities for mattresses, chairs, recliners, sofas, desks, workstations and other TSC products.
- Conduct regular meetings, presentations and product demonstrations for Architects and Interior Designers.
- Generate project leads through regular market visits, networking, references, events and industry associations.
- Develop an Architect/ID database and maintain regular engagement with key accounts.
- Track projects from the initial design/specification stage through procurement and final execution.
- Ensure The Sleep Company products are specified, shortlisted and included in project requirements wherever relevant.
- Coordinate with internal teams for samples, quotations, product specifications, commercial proposals and order execution.
1. Corporate & Institutional Business
- Identify and develop new corporate and institutional accounts.
- Build relationships with Procurement, Purchase, Administration, Facility Management, HR, Workplace, Projects and Corporate Real Estate teams .
- Identify requirements for:
- Office Chairs
- Workstations & Desks
- Height-Adjustable Desks
- Mattresses
- Recliners
- Sofas
- Wellness & Ergonomic Solutions
- Employee Wellness / Gifting Solutions
- Target corporates, IT companies, banks, hotels, co-working spaces, facility management companies, developers and other institutions.
- Generate leads through cold calling, references, networking, site visits, events and existing customer relationships.
- Conduct client presentations and product demonstrations.
- Prepare commercial proposals and negotiate with customers within approved company guidelines.
- Drive opportunities from lead → meeting → requirement → quotation → negotiation → order → execution → payment .
1. Lead Generation & Market Development
- Generate a consistent pipeline of qualified B2B opportunities.
- Conduct regular market visits to meet Architects, IDs, corporates and potential customers.
- Research new projects, commercial developments, office expansions, hotels and institutional requirements.
- Build a strong pipeline of new business as well as repeat business .
- Identify decision-makers and influencers within target accounts.
- Develop new accounts rather than relying only on existing relationships.
- Participate in exhibitions, networking events, architect meets and industry forums.
1. Project & Account Management
- Take ownership of identified projects from lead generation until closure.
- Maintain regular follow-ups with clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate internally with Sales, Marketing, Retail, Product, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams .
- Ensure timely quotations, samples, product information and commercial proposals.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure smooth order execution.
- Develop long-term relationships to generate repeat and referral business.
1. Sales Performance & Reporting
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and pipeline targets .
- Maintain accurate records of all leads, meetings, quotations and opportunities in the CRM.
- Submit regular Daily Sales Reports (DSR), weekly pipeline updates and monthly performance reports .

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales or a related field.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
- 3–6 years of experience in B2B Sales / Business Development / Institutional Sales.
- Experience working with Architects, Interior Designers, Corporate Procurement, Facility Management or Project Sales is preferred.
- Experience in furniture, office solutions, mattresses, interiors, consumer products, real estate, building materials or related industries will be an advantage.
- Proven track record of generating leads and converting business opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial understanding and ability to negotiate effectively.
- Ability to identify decision-makers and influence purchase decisions.
- Strong follow-up and account-management skills.
- Comfortable with frequent market visits and client meetings.
