- Conduct laboratory tests to determine blood group antigens and antibodies
- Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions
- Test blood samples for viral or bacterial infections
- Ensure the safe storage and proper handling of blood products
- Perform cross-matching tests to determine compatibility between donors and recipients
- Document test results and maintain a database of all blood donations
- Conduct routine maintenance and quality control on blood bank equipment
- Maintain records of blood bank inventory and other documents
- Ensure compliance with blood bank policies and procedures
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
