The CFD Engineer Intern will support the Simulation Team in performing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses for thermal management, airflow optimization, and cooling performance evaluation of power electronics, batteries, inverters, and energy storage products. The intern will work closely with simulation and design engineers to improve product performance and reliability through virtual prototyping.
Qualification/ Personal Attributes
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering is preferred.
• Experience: Not Required.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Proficiency in fluid flow and heat transfer principles.
• Familiarity with Li-ion battery technology and thermal management.
• Experience using simulation tools such as Ansys Fluent, ICEPAK, MATLAB, and CREO.
• Simulation Workflow:
• Understanding of industry-standard simulation analysis workflows and testing standards.
• Knowledge in CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Analysis using Ansys Fluent software, specifically related to Power Electronics/Li Ion Battery thermal management.
• Ability to apply thermal design standards effectively.
• Specific Skills:
• Expertise in heat sink design, fan selection, and power electronics heat generation.
• Proficient in basic thermal calculations for preliminary concept design validation.
• Hands-on experience in pre- and post-processing of CFD analyses, including model preparation, meshing, graphing, contour visualization, and animation creation.
• Knowledge of thermal interface materials (TIM) used in the power electronics industry, including proper selection to meet thermal requirements while considering cost-effectiven
