About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Automotive Data Engineer / Data Scientist to transform vehicle, diagnostic, battery, propulsion, and software-installation data into actionable insights that drive product quality and engineering decisions.

The role combines data engineering, advanced analytics, machine learning, and automotive domain expertise to build scalable data solutions, identify product and quality issues, and enable continuous feedback across engineering, product, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for vehicle telemetry, diagnostics, software installations, and fleet data.
- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify product issues, quality trends, anomalies, and customer-impacting patterns.
- Develop statistical models, machine-learning solutions, and data-driven quality analytics.
- Build dashboards and visualisations that communicate insights effectively to engineering, product, and operational stakeholders.
- Develop robust and maintainable solutions using Python, SQL, and PySpark.
- Work with cloud data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and data-modelling frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, vehicle engineers, data scientists, and product teams.
- Improve data quality, pipeline reliability, observability, automation, and continuous engineering feedback loops.

Required Skills & Experience




- 4+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data science, analytics, or a related field.
- Strong programming and analytical skills in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with PySpark, pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Polars, or similar data-processing libraries.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
- Experience with data visualisation and BI tools such as Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn, or equivalent.
- Good understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience working with cloud and modern data platforms such as Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent technologies.
- Familiarity with Git, Linux, APIs, and CI/CD practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex data into explicit business and engineering insights.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the automotive industry, particularly with vehicle signals, diagnostics, UDS, OTA, battery analytics, or propulsion systems.
- Experience developing analytics-facing applications using React and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with dbt, Azure DevOps, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or Power BI DAX.
- Knowledge of machine learning, time-series analytics, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics.
- Experience working with large-scale vehicle or IoT datasets is an advantage.
