Role Description The Automation Engineer role at ACME Switchgears is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing automation solutions for manufacturing lines and test systems, ensuring stable and productive production processes.
The Automation
Engineer will configure and maintain control systems, PLCs, and robotics equipment, monitor process performance, and address issues affecting productivity, safety, or quality. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving automation and electrical problems, coordinating with production and maintenance teams, documenting changes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
The role also requires collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to upgrade existing systems, integrate new technologies, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust Automation and Process Control skills, including experience with PLCs, SCADA, or similar control platforms.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering knowledge, with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and apply safe electrical practices.
- Candidates should possess Troubleshooting abilities for automation, electrical, and control system issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates should possess Robotics-related skills, such as programming, configuring, and maintaining robotic equipment used in production or testing.
- Relevant skills such as familiarity with industrial safety standards, instrumentation, and basic networking for control systems are beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in industrial automation.
- Strong analytical thinking, clear communication, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site with multidisciplinary teams are expected.
