Job Summary

We are looking for an AutoCAD Draughtsman – Mechanical with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in 2D AutoCAD drafting and mechanical fabrication drawings. The candidate should have practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, electrical panel enclosures, and mechanical component drawings, along with the ability to prepare accurate fabrication and assembly drawings for manufacturing.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare, develop, and modify 2D mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Prepare detailed fabrication drawings for electrical panel enclosures, control panels, and other sheet metal structures.
- Develop panel GA (General Arrangement) drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed component drawings.
- Prepare sheet metal fabrication drawings, including cutting, bending, drilling, punching, and welding details.
- Create mechanical layouts, mounting arrangements, structural drawings, and enclosure designs.
- Prepare detailed dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, and manufacturing instructions.
- Develop part drawings, assembly drawings, and exploded views as per project requirements.
- Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and material specifications for fabrication and assembly.
- Coordinate with electrical design, production, fabrication, and project engineering teams to ensure accurate execution of drawings.
- Review and revise drawings based on design changes, production requirements, and engineering feedback.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, technically feasible,



and suitable for fabrication and manufacturing.
- Provide technical drawing support during fabrication, assembly, inspection, and installation.

Required Skills

- Mandatory: 1–2 years of hands-on experience in AutoCAD 2D for mechanical drafting and fabrication drawings.
- Mandatory: Practical experience in preparing sheet metal fabrication drawings for electrical panels and enclosures.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical fabrication drawings, panel structures, GA drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, punching, and welding.
- Ability to prepare detailed component drawings with accurate dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, mounting arrangements, fasteners, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to prepare BOMs, part drawings, and assembly drawings.
- Ability to read, interpret, modify, and revise mechanical drawings as per project requirements.
- Good coordination, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in electrical panel enclosure fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing.
- Familiarity with mechanical design standards and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software will be an added advantage.
- Experience coordinating with production, fabrication, and assembly teams.
