The Associate Specialists BAU oriented in reviewing fund accounting records maintained by a 3P fund accountant, monitoring accruals and forecasts, reviewing financial and client reporting, supporting audit and SOC1 testing needs, prepping capital activity needs and related notices, etc. Knowledge of Lux/Dutch/US GAAP is necessary to complete responsibilities as well as fund accounting requirements (FV, performance constructs, Lux regulations, etc.).

Team Overview The Leveraged Finance team supports credit funds, clean energy funds, and infrastructure funds across the firm's product suite, including term loans, CMBS, notes, loans, and borrowings. The team partners closely with Investments, Legal, Compliance, Tax, and external service providers to ensure accurate fund accounting, robust financial reporting, and strong operational controls across the fund lifecycle.

Position Summary The Associate Specialist will support the day-to-day fund finance operations for the Nuveen Infrastructure Clean Energy global funds. This is a business-as-usual (BAU) focused role responsible for reviewing fund accounting records maintained by third-party fund administrators, monitoring accruals and forecasts, supporting financial and client reporting cycles, assisting with audit and SOC1 testing requirements, and preparing capital activity notices. The role requires strong technical fund accounting knowledge across multiple jurisdictions and a diligent, detail-oriented approach to ongoing fund oversight.

Key Responsibilities

- Review fund accounting records and deliverables prepared by third-party fund administrators for accuracy and completeness, escalating discrepancies as needed.
- Monitor fund-level accruals, expense forecasts, and fee calculations (management fees, carried interest, etc.) to ensure alignment with governing fund documents.
- Support preparation and review of periodic financial reporting, including quarterly unaudited reports and annual audited financial statements.
- Assist with client and investor reporting deliverables, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of investor capital statements and related communications.
- Prepare capital call and distribution notices and related capital activity documentation, ensuring accuracy of calculations and adherence to fund terms.
- Support the annual audit process, including coordination with auditors, preparation of supporting schedules, and resolution of audit queries.
- Assist with SOC1 testing requirements, including gathering evidence, documenting controls, and supporting remediation of any identified gaps.
- Apply working knowledge of Luxembourg, Dutch, and US GAAP accounting frameworks to fund accounting reviews and reporting tasks, ensuring compliance with relevant jurisdictional requirements.
- Support fund accounting processes specific to infrastructure and clean energy structures, including fair value (FV) assessments, performance fee/carry constructs, and Luxembourg regulatory requirements (e.g., CSSF filings, AIFM-related reporting).
- Liaise with fund administrators on day-to-day accounting queries, reconciliations,



and reporting timelines.
- Assist in resolving investor and internal stakeholder queries related to fund accounting and reporting matters.
- Support ad-hoc reporting requests and special projects as needed, including process improvement initiatives within the fund finance function.
- Maintain organized documentation and audit trails to support internal controls and governance standards.
- Collaborate with the broader finance team supporting credit, clean energy, and infrastructure funds to ensure consistency in accounting practices and reporting standards.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting, fund finance, or related roles, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, credit, or clean energy fund structures.
- Working knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and US GAAP as applicable to fund accounting and financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of fund accounting concepts including fair valuation (FV) methodologies, performance fee/carry constructs, and NAV calculations.
- Familiarity with Luxembourg regulatory requirements relevant to fund structures (e.g., CSSF reporting, AIFMD-related requirements) is highly desirable.
- Experience reviewing and coordinating with third-party fund administrators on accounting deliverables.
- Exposure to audit processes and SOC1 control testing preferred.
- Experience with capital call/distribution notice preparation and related investor capital activity processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CA, CPA) is a plus.
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy, with a control-oriented mindset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with internal teams and external service providers.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced fund finance environment.
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining strong governance standards.
