Position Summary:
We're looking for an Associate Software Engineer/ Software Engineer ( Front end Development) with working knowledge of Angular and a real understanding of web accessibility standards: Section 508, ADA, and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.
You'll build secure, responsive, and accessible enterprise web applications that people of all abilities can use, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and other assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we build every feature, not something we check at the end. You'll work closely with UX/UI designers, QA, product owners, and other engineers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build responsive, accessible web applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop UI components that meet WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, Section 508, and ADA requirements.
- Use semantic HTML and ARIA roles and attributes correctly, and make sure components work with keyboards and screen readers.
- Find and fix accessibility issues using automated tools and manual testing.
- Create reusable, maintainable UI components and integrate them with REST APIs.
- Follow secure coding practices based on OWASP guidelines.
- Make sure applications work across browsers and on both desktop and mobile.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fix frontend issues.
- Take part in code reviews and testing, and maintain and improve existing applications.
- Follow team coding standards and Agile/Scrum practices.
Required Technical Skills : Front-End Development
- Solid grasp of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript
- Responsive design using CSS Flexbox and Grid
Angular
- Working knowledge of a recent Angular version (v16 or later)
- Understanding of components, services, dependency injection, routing, and forms (template-driven and reactive)
- Basic understanding of lifecycle hooks
- Familiarity with RxJS and Observables
Web Accessibility
- Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level AA, including the four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust (POUR)
- Understanding of Section 508 and ADA requirements for web applications
- Semantic HTML5 and correct use of ARIA roles, states, and properties
- Keyboard accessibility: logical tab order, visible focus, focus management in dialogs and single-page app (SPA) route changes, no keyboard traps
- Accessible forms: labels, error messages, and required-field indicators
- Color contrast requirements and text alternatives for images and icons
- Basic hands-on testing with at least one screen reader (NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver)
- Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as axe DevTools, WAVE, or Lighthouse
Tools and integration
- Understanding of REST APIs and JSON
- Basic Git (clone, branch, commit, pull requests)
- Comfortable using browser developer tools for debugging.
Preferred Competencies:
- Angular CDK accessibility features (a11y module, FocusTrap, LiveAnnouncer) or accessible use of Angular Material
- Accessibility certification or coursework (e.g., IAAP CPACC/WAS, Trusted Tester, or equivalent)
- Awareness of OWASP Top 10 and secure frontend practices (e.g., XSS prevention, sanitization)
- Common RxJS operators (e.g., map, switchMap, debounceTime)
- Unit testing basics (Jasmine/Karma or Jest)
- npm and the Angular CLI
- Exposure to frontend performance optimization
- A GitHub or portfolio project that shows accessible UI work.
Qualifications:
- B.Tech/B.E. in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field
- Working knowledge of Angular and Section 508 / ADA / WCAG standards, from projects, internships, coursework, or work experience
- Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills
- Explicit communication and teamwork
- Attention to detail, especially in UI quality and usability
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
