The impact you’ll make
Join Lam as a Cost Performance Engineering team member where you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the NPI teams costing function. Using your knowledge of manufacturing, produce performance, technology and costing principles you will oversee the Costing of processes, and operations at Supplier end. You'll tackle cost reduction challenges. Your expertise optimizing manufacturing costs and standards helps shape Lam's commitment to innovation and efficiency in manufacturing.
In this role, you will directly contribute to NPI efficiency and cost competitiveness.
What you’ll do
• Should costing of built to print complex mechanical parts (Metal machining, Sheetmetal, weldments, plastics etc)
and assemblies
• Troubleshoot recent or existing costing challenges through problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Designs, develops and implements costing practices.
• Reviews and develops designs that improve product manufacturability and assembly.
• Coordinate new product builds in pilot production manufacturing partnering closely with manufacturing and product engineers.
• Review engineering drawings & bill of materials (BOM) for costing purposes.
• Participate in design reviews and provide Design feedback to improve manufacturability and cost.
• Performs Tear down and Benchmarking Analysis for Large and complex assemblies
• Performs PS&DM; to solve complex problems
• Coordinate new product builds in pilot production manufacturing partnering closely with manufacturing and product engineers.
• Create and release engineering drawings & bill of materials (BOM) using Engineering
