The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you will be owning & executing medium-complex Mechanical sub-system projects to design, develop, optimize, & implement design solutions in Lam Products. These projects would be driven as part of NPD, Continuous Improvement Programs (CIP), cost reduction and/or reliability improvement initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with both internal and external Cross Functional Teams (CFT) to ensure the product design meets its objectives, validate the design through performance testing & obtain approvals by following Product Development & Release (PDR) process.
• Develops & presents reports/presentations of excellent quality that communicate design intent, analysis & validation at design reviews.
• Develops & execute test plans that generate characterization data sufficient to understand and validate the performance of the design.
• Performs analytical work in order to characterize and properly specify designs,



including heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid/gas dynamics and manufacturability. Design and develop thermo-mechanical components with understanding of fluid flow characteristics.

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 years of relevant experience. (or)
• Master’s in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 4 years of relevant experience
• Hands on experience to take design from concepts (OEM components, sheet metal, metal machined & weld assembly, plastics & ceramics would be a big plus), detail engineering (Tolerance analysis, dFMEA, 8D problem solving, RCCA, 5-why, DFMA), test plan, testing, etc. & through detailed drawing, parts procurement, DFM interaction with suppliers, assembly, build verification, customer qualification with deeper understanding of issues faced, lessons learned and closure.
