Role Overview The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, and cost control across all categories needed to run student hostels — food & beverage, housekeeping, furniture & fixtures, linen,
maintenance supplies, security services, and facility equipment. This role requires someone who understands both hospitality-grade procurement standards and the budget discipline needed in a scaling,
asset-light business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategy across F&B;, housekeeping, linen, furniture, electronics,
and maintenance categories for multiple hostel properties
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors and service providers (kitchen suppliers, laundry services, pest control, security agencies, furniture vendors, etc.)
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms to optimize cost without compromising quality or safety standards
- Manage vendor relationships and conduct periodic performance reviews (quality, delivery timelines,
compliance)
- Set up and maintain procurement SOPs, approval workflows, and inventory/reorder systems across properties
- Coordinate with property/hostel managers to forecast demand and prevent stock-outs or overstocking
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI, safety, and other statutory requirements for food and facility-related purchases
- Track procurement budgets, generate cost reports, and identify savings opportunities
- Manage recent hostel launch procurement (furniture, kitchen setup, amenities) within timelines and budget
- Build a centralized vendor database and rate contracts to standardize purchasing across locations
- Evaluate and implement procurement software/tools for better visibility and control as the portfolio scales
