About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to join our finance team on a fully remote basis. You will manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and support month-end and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, is highly organized, and has hands-on experience with Xero.

Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and ensure timely posting of transactions
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, bill payments, and collections follow-up
• Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations in Xero
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
• Manage payroll processing and related reporting (where applicable)
• Prepare and file VAT/GST/sales tax returns in line with local regulations
• Track fixed assets, depreciation,



prepayments, and accruals
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a general accounting role
• Proven, hands-on experience with Xero accounting software (Xero Advisor or Xero certification is a plus)
• Solid understanding of GAAP or IFRS
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
