Summary:

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by proactively monitoring and investigating issues across various critical business system components. This role requires a energetic approach to identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to maintain system stability and performance. The position demands continuous engagement with multiple teams to ensure seamless operation and timely resolution of challenges that impact business processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
• Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
• Contribute in providing solutions to work related problems.




• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
• Document and communicate findings and resolutions clearly to stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and improvement of support processes and best practices.
• Installation, configuration, Fixpak upgrade of DB2 LUW databases, DB2 Connect servers, Client machines.
• Daily health checks, monitoring and act proactively to prevent any outages.
• Excellent hands-on experience with backup & restoration techniques.
• Hands-on experience in dealing with data refresh.
• Should be good in performance tuning for SQL query optimization, bufferpools, indexes etc.
• Administer production, QA, and development database environments.
• Execute database maintenance activities
• Configure and manage HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery).
• Troubleshoot database issues including locking, deadlocks, performance bottlen
