Job Title: Assistant Manager – Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: HR Manager / HR Head
Location: Salem
Experience: 4–8 years
Job Summary The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement activities. The role requires close coordination with management and employees to ensure effective implementation of HR policies and processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned positions.
- Coordinate with department heads to understand manpower requirements.
- Source, screen, interview, and shortlist candidates.
- Coordinate interviews, salary negotiations, offers, and joining formalities.
- Maintain recruitment MIS and track hiring timelines.
2. HR Operations
- Manage employee records, HR documentation, and personnel files.
- Handle onboarding, induction, transfers, promotions, and exit formalities.
- Ensure timely updating of HRMS and employee databases.
- Prepare HR reports and management dashboards.
3. Employee Relations
- Address employee queries, grievances, and workplace concerns.
- Support disciplinary procedures and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain positive employee-management relationships.
- Conduct employee engagement initiatives and welfare activities.
4. Performance Management
- Coordinate the annual performance appraisal process.
- Monitor goal setting, performance reviews, and appraisal documentation.
- Support managers in performance improvement processes.
- Maintain performance-related records and reports.
5. Payroll & Benefits
- Coordinate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Verify attendance, leave,
overtime, incentives, and other payroll inputs.
- Support administration of employee benefits and statutory deductions.
6. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus, and other statutory matters as applicable.
- Maintain statutory registers and documentation.
- Support internal and external HR audits.
7. Learning & Development
- Identify training requirements in coordination with functional managers.
- Organize employee training and development programs.
- Maintain training records and evaluate training effectiveness.
8. HR Policies & Process Improvement
- Implement company HR policies and procedures.
- Review HR processes and recommend improvements.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies across departments.

Qualifications
- MBA / PGDM / MSW / MA in Human Resources or equivalent.
- 4–8 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing/corporate workplace.
