Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Claims Management & Sensory to drive product claims design, substantiation, claims management and sensory assessment across Personal Care and Healthcare portfolios.

The role will work closely with Marketing, Market Research, Formulation, Legal and Regulatory teams to develop unique, differentiated and substantiated product claims across innovation, renovation, new product development, value improvement projects and consumer studies.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage claims discussions and substantiation rationale in collaboration with Marketing, Formulation, Regulatory and Market Research teams.
- Develop and manage product claims and supporting substantiation dockets for various projects.
- Partner with Formulation and Regulatory teams to ensure timely clearance of digital content and artworks while maintaining regulatory compliance.
- Recommend and support appropriate clinical, safety, in-vivo and in-vitro studies for claims substantiation.
- Handle and support challenges related to ASCI, competition and consumer claims, ensuring appropriate regulatory and technical justification.
- Develop a claims database for Hair Care, Skin Care and Pain Management portfolios across Indian and international brands.
- Track market trends and competition benchmarking to identify recent claim opportunities, technical content, demonstrations and digital communication opportunities.
- Support development of differentiated claims based on product technology, formulation, consumer requirements and brand objectives.
- Design and validate sensory assessment protocols and assess prototypes and benchmark products.
- Interpret sensory data and prepare technical reports to derive actionable insights.
- Manage sensory assessments in collaboration with formulation teams and train external sensory panels.




- Identify opportunities for next-generation sensory and product-format assessments.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project objectives within timelines.

Required Skills & Expertise

- Strong knowledge of technical interpretation and claims substantiation methodologies.
- Understanding of clinical test methods applicable to Personal Care products.
- Good understanding of consumer habits, product requirements, packaging requirements and competitive benchmarking.
- Knowledge of market research, consumer insights and category trends.
- Understanding of product technology, formulation and performance requirements and their correlation with end-use applications.
- Knowledge of categories such as Skin Care, Hair Care, Oral Care, Pain Management and Healthcare will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Indian and international regulatory requirements and statutory compliance related to product claims.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Creative, analytical and self-driven approach.

Educational / Experience Requirements

Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience in the FMCG industry, preferably in Personal Care or Healthcare.

Candidates with experience in MNCs or medium-to-large organisations, particularly in Personal Care products, will be preferred.
