Role Description

- Identify, source, and procure high-quality botanical raw materials, including herbs, roots, seeds, spices, and liquid extracts, for nutraceutical and flavour production.
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing of industry-compliant packaging, securing specialized bottles, protective pouches, cartons, and labels suited for product preservation.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and long-term supply contracts with domestic and international vendors to drive cost-efficiency without compromising material integrity.
- Collaborate closely with QA/QC teams to guarantee that all raw materials and packaging strictly adhere to internal safety standards and statutory regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate and track vendor performance through routine audits and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on On-Time Delivery (OTD) and material defect rates.




- Align procurement schedules with manufacturing forecasts and inventory levels to maintain optimal stock, preventing production delays and minimizing excess inventory.
- Proactively resolve supply chain bottlenecks, shipment delays, and quality discrepancies by acting as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor market trends, crop seasons, and price fluctuations for agricultural commodities to identify alternative suppliers and mitigate supply chain risks.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Chemistry, or Pharmacy.
- 5 to 6 years of procurement experience in the nutraceutical, chemical, or flavour industries.
- Expertise in sourcing botanical raw materials, extracts, and specialized packaging.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, documentation (COAs, MSDS), and regulatory compliance (GMP, FSSAI, FDA).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel for inventory and cost tracking. Proven track record in cost negotiation, contract management, and vendor evaluation.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with internal QA/QC and manufacturing teams.
